2014 SHADE TREE PROGRAM FOR CITY OF CHASKA RESIDENTS

 This Spring, Chaska property owners again will be able to purchase shade trees at wholesale prices. The program, sponsored by the City Council and the Public Works Dept. is designed to both replace lost trees and add to the City's tree population. Orders will be taken from March 21st thru April 11th, 2014. Click here for more information.

City of Chaska gets ready for Spring Clean-Up Day
Attention Chaska residents, mark your calendar for Spring Clean-Up Day, which is set for Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Athletic Park, a half mile west of Highway 41 on 1st Street. Clean up your yard and dispose of yard waste free of charge. Disposal of yard waste includes leaves, grass, brush and garden waste. No bags, no brush larger than 3 inches in diameter and 4 feet in length.For additional information call 952-448-4335 or email us at PublicWorks@chaskamn.com.

Christmas in May Volunteers Needed
  Volunteers are needed on Saturday, May 3 as we change the lives of our Chaska neighbors. We need both skilled and unskilled volunteers to help us rehabilitate the homes of Chaska residents who have neither the financial or physical ability to do so themselves. To volunteer for part or all of the day, please call 952-361-5350.

FIRE EXTINGUISHER SERVICE
Minnesota Conway Fire and Safety will be servicing fire extinguishers at the Chaska Fire Station located at 285 Engler Boulevard from 10:00 am to noon on the following Fridays in 2014; April 4th, July 11th, and October 3rd. For a nominal fee you can have your fire extinguisher inspected, refilled, or replaced.

COOKING FIRES ARE THE LEADING CAUSE OF FIRE
Cooking fires cause hundreds of deaths and thousands of injuries in our nation each year.  Recently, the Chaska Fire Department has responded to three kitchen fires, one of them resulting in an injury.  This fact, along with the more than $2.5 million in property loss, make reducing these statistics a priority to the Chaska Fire Department.
