All fire extinguishers should be inspected monthly by the owner.
Monthly inspections include ensuring that the extinguisher has enough pressure to work properly, that the extinguisher is in its designated place and has not been used, and that the extinguisher contains no obvious defects such as puncture holes, corrosion, or broken or missing parts.
Fire extinguishers should be tested by a licensed fire protection company on an annual basis. Residents can personally bring their fire extinguishers to a service technician who will be available at the Fire Station between 10:00 am and 12:00 noon on the following Friday dates:
January 5, 2018
April 6, 2018
The Fire Station can only accept extinguishers for service on the dates listed above. A small fee may occur if service such as re-charging is needed. The Chaska Fire Department is happy to provide this service to our residents!
