Night to Unite
Every year in August, neighborhoods throughout Chaska are invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for Night to Unite. Night to Unite focuses on bringing neighbors together to promote crime and drug prevention. It is sponsored by the MN Crime Prevention Association and co-sponsored locally by Chaska Police Department.
Chaska’s Night to Unite is designed to:
- Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
- Send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Residents in neighborhoods throughout Chaska and across the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police. Many neighborhoods throughout Chaska host a variety of special events such as block parties, cookouts, parades, and visits from police, flashlight walks, contests, youth activities and anti-crime rallies.
You will also see Chief Knight, the Chaska Police Department, Chaska Fire Department, McGruff Crime Dog, and Target join in as many neighborhood parties as they can.
