2040 Comprehensive Plan


The 2040 Comprehensive Plan acts as a framework for the next 20+ years in Chaska. The plan is a guiding tool that addresses areas like residential, industrial and open spaces, and it provides a glimpse into what Chaska could look like in the future.

City staff have built a draft of the 2040 Comprehensive Plan with input from the public, the Planning Commission, Park Board and City Council. You can review a current draft of the plan below.

Next steps

The Chaska City Council approved a draft of the 2040 Comprehensive Plan on November 18, 2018. The plan has now be sent to the jurisdictions listed below for review and comment.

  • City of Shakopee
  • City of Victoria
  • Dahlgren Township
  • Laketown Township
  • Carver County
  • Carver County Parks
  • Carver County Water Management Organization
  • ISD 112
  • Metropolitan Council
  • MN DNR
  • MnDOT

These authorities will have six months to review and comment on the draft plan. Following the review and comment period, the 2040 Comprehensive Plan will be submitted to the Metropolitan Council for final approval.
