The 2016 Public Power Lineworkers Rodeo is April 2 at Canterbury Park in Shakopee. This event began in 2001 by the American Public Power Association (APPA). Public power lineworkers come together from all over the United States and some U.S. territories to demonstrate their skill and knowledge in the craft of linework. At the Rodeo, journeyman and apprentice lineworkers can compete for professional recognition. All participants have a unique opportunity to connect with and learn from the nationwide community of lineworker professionals. This year 63 teams of 4 Line Workers per team and 120 Apprentice Line Workers are competing. The City of Chaska will be represented by Journeymen Mark Steinbauer, Emerson Brady, Greg Wickenhauser, and Jordan Storms.
The City of Chaska is proud to be a sponsor of the Public Power Lineworkers Rodeo. Chaska is partnering with the City of Glencoe to sponsor an apprentice event. Chaska is organizing the on-site event transportation and partnering with the City of Shakopee Public Utilities to host a breakfast and lunch for participants.
The event is FREE to the public and there will be many activities for kids. This is truly a family event.
