City Council Meeting Recap

City Council sitting in Council Chambers

At the December 3rd Chaska City Council meeting, the Chaska City Council adopted a resolution approving the concept plans for City Square West and two alternate Chaska Library sites.

Concept plans highlighted the proposed development of City Square West, which is a city block that currently houses City Square Center, Klein (Old National) Bank and the U.S. Post Office. The designs showed a mix of residential, commercial and public space. A focal point of the project, the public space would be programmable for community events and activities.

The library sites under consideration have been narrowed down to the Chaska License Center and the eastern half of the Guardian Angels School block. The Chaska License Center site was presented as the preferred location, and the Guardian Angels School block was the secondary option.

Community Development Director Kevin Ringwald mentioned that Monday’s resolution was just the start for the projects.
