(STEVENS POINT, Wis.) – On the heels of unprecedented TV coverage during the historic 2017-18 season, the fifth rendition of “Curling Night in America” is set to begin production this summer at the Chaska Curling Center in Chaska, Minn.

The beautiful six-sheet curling center will host four competing countries in mixed doubles, women’s and men’s competition Aug. 27-29.  The series will air beginning in October (most likely on NBCSN). The made-for-TV international curling event, which debuted in 2014, will feature three American teams taking on China, Japan and one country yet to be determined in team and mixed doubles competition. USA will be represented by all three teams that competed in the 2018 Olympic Winter Games, including the men’s gold medalists. The international teams will be announced this summer.

“We are pleased to be able to continue to produce national television coverage of curling to build upon the unprecedented amount of coverage enjoyed in the 2017-18 season,” said Rick Patzke, chief executive officer for USA Curling. “Consistent national exposure has proven to be a major catalyst for the steady growth of curling across the United States, and one of the most significant benefits we can deliver to USA Curling members. Our thanks go out to the many others whom make this possible, including our sponsors, and the members and supporters of the Chaska Curling Center.”

Similar to this year’s event (the competition is titled the U.S. Grand Prix of Curling), a points system will be used to determine a champion in each division as well as an overall victor. In addition, prize money will be up for grabs. The U.S. has won back-to-back Grand Prix of Curling titles after winning last season in Omaha, Neb.

“We’re thrilled to host an event of this caliber and give community members an opportunity to watch world-class curling,” said Jeff Isaacson, the Chaska Curling Center Manager. “Our members and staff take great pride in our facilities, and it will be exciting to showcase the Curling Center and the City of Chaska on a national stage.”

Information on how to get tickets will be released soon.
