Chaska City Offices will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, and on Friday, November 27th.  City Hall will reopen for regular business on Monday, November 30th at 7:30 am until 4:30 pm. Check with the Community Center at 952-448-7740 for their reduced holiday hours. 

Anyone looking for fellowship and good food on Thanksgiving day, need look no further than St. John's Lutheran Church in Chaska at Fourth and Oak Streets.  This will be the eighth year that community residents have come together to share a meal and conversation.  The meal is free from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm and is sponsored by LOVE, INC of Eastern Carver County.

Fare For All, a local food program created to make fresh fruits and vegetable more affordable for local families, will be selling "Holiday Packs" for $30 today from 4-6pm at the Chaska Community Center.  Anyone is welcome to take advantage of this great offer!

The holiday pack includes a 8-10 pound Jennie-O turkey, a Hormel pork tenderloin, boneless-skinless chicken breasts, pork sausage, two bags of green beans and an apple pie. 

There is no need to register in advance and there are no forms to complete.  Cash, credit debit, and EBT cards are all accepted.

Save the date of Saturday, December 5th for the annual Hometown Holiday event hosted by the Chaska Downtown Business Alliance. 

Twenty-seven downtown businesses will be offering a variety of shopping and dining experiences beginning at 10:00 am.  The fun will include a chance to win gift certificates valued up to $300, a free exhibit at the Historical Society featuring vintage dolls and toys, along with free horse drawn wagon rides, and Santa Claus.   The Library, Moravian Church, Girl Scouts, and Meadow Spring Church will all be hosting special programs, as well.  Numerous other activities are also included throughout the day and evening.  The tree lighting ceremony will take place at 4:00 pm in City Square Park, with the winners of the coloring contest having the opportunity to light the tree.

The Chaska Human Rights Commission will meet at 6:30 pm tonight, 11-19-15, in the City Council Chambers.  The entire agenda can be found at, and includes discussions of outreach and initiatives, education, and public relations. 

There WILL NOT be a Chaska City Council meeting on Monday, November 30th.  instead, a ribbon cutting of the new Firemens's Park Curling and Event Center will take place at 5:30 pm.
