A Message from Chief Knight

From School District 112 and the
Chaska Police Department

This morning it was reported to us that on Wednesday morning, December 16th, one of our students was offered a ride by an unknown male near a bus stop in the Ravoux Rd. area. The unknown adult male asked the student if he could give him a ride to school. Our student appropriately refused the ride from him and walked away. A short time later, the driver left the area in the vehicle he was driving without further incident.

We want to remind parents to have safety conversations with their kids about how to handle "suspicious" incidents like this one. As a school, the safety of our students is our priority. We plan to take this opportunity to engage our students in "safety" talks in school to make sure they know what to do in situations like this.

The Chaska Police Department is actively following up on this incident. At this time the police have received no other reports of similar activity. Questions about this incident should be directed to them. As always, remember to call 911 and report all suspicious activity or specific information about this incident to the Chaska Police Department. Thank you.
