A Message from Chief Knight
Brianna and Chief Knight

Congratulations Brianna Luetkahans

The Captain of our Chaska Police Explorer program, Brianna Luetkahans, was selected by the Northern Star Council to be the Exploring Youth Leader representative.

This position provides valuable information and service to the Exploring Board of Advisors in areas of membership, service, marketing and finance.

Brianna was selected for this role as an Explorer as she has documented leadership abilities, the willingness to continue to build on leadership skills, and the availability to attend meetings and events.

As a Youth Leader, she will report to the Service Team Chair and the Police Exploring District Director.  She will make recommendations and provide feedback to the Exploring Board of Advisors and will attend Exploring events throughout the year, as a representative of Exploring youth.

Next year Brianna will attend Augsburg College in Minneapolis (MN). She was awarded a leadership scholarship that will pay for half of her tuition.

We are very proud of her accomplishments!
Chaska Officers issued 22 citations and 34 warnings during this reporting period.
There were 153 calls for service.
Officer Reinhardt stopped a vehicle for speeding in the area of Hwy 41 and Engler Blvd.  The male driver was intoxicated and failed field sobriety evaluations.  He was arrested and charged with DWI.

A stolen vehicle, occupied by a driver and two passengers, was located at a convenience store in Chaska.   Numerous stolen items were also found inside the vehicle.  The three occupants were arrested and face felony possession of stolen property charges.

Never mind….
A male called the police to report a parked vehicle was blocking his driveway.  A short time later, the male called the police again and cancelled his complaint.   He had realized the vehicle blocking his driveway was his own.
