Bike Sale and Bike Registration at Taste of Chaska, May 11th 2016
We will be having our annual bike sale at the Taste of Chaska held in City Square Park from 5 PM to 9 PM. The bike sale will consist of 35 bicycles that were impounded as “found bikes” by the police department and unfortunately we were unable to locate the owners. These bicycles were found in people’s yards, left at bike racks and various places around the city.
The Chaska Police Department encourages you to register your bike and has a “Bike Registration Program” to enable us to return your bike to you when found. The program is simple and easy to do; a registration is completed, an Operation Identification sticker is applied and your assigned number is given to you. When a bike is found the serial number can be checked with our list of registered bicycles and returned to you.
Bike helmets will also be available for purchase for $10. These normally retail for $22.95. We would like to ensure that everyone is safe when out riding. Parents: You need a helmet, too!
The bike sale proceeds will benefit our youth Police Explorer group that assists at many events in the community, participate in educational activities, and develop leadership skills.
