2016 CPD Explorers

Award Winning Explorers
Our Chaska Police Department Explorers competed at the Minnesota State Conference in Rochester, April 21st to April 24th,   and won “1st Place” in Arrest and Search and “2nd Place” in Use of Force.
There were 497 youth attending the conference representing 43 Departments across the state. We are proud of their accomplishments!
The purpose of our Post is to provide members with a basic knowledge of the field of law enforcement, and to provide an opportunity for them to participate in community service activities. The Explorer Post participates in community events such as the July 4th celebration, River City Days and many more. Look for the Explorers at Taste of Chaska when they have their annual bike sale which is a fundraiser for them.
Our Explorer Post is open to youth, both male and female, ages 14-21. Prospective members should have a general interest and a desire to explore the field of law enforcement. We meet at the Chaska Police Department on Tuesday evenings from 6 PM to 8 PM.  Please contact Officer Janke at; 952-448-4200 if you are interested in joining.

Chaska Police officers issued 24 citations and 25 warnings during this reporting period.
There were 201 calls for service.

A male assaulted his girlfriend at their residence, then fled on foot as police arrived.  A short time later, officers located and arrested the male.  He was charged with domestic assault and obstructing the legal process.

A burglary occurred at an unoccupied residence and items were stolen.  Investigation continues.

Take Me With U…

A male recently called the Chaska Police to request a ride.  More specifically, he wanted an officer to drive him to Paisley Park in a squad car.  While riding in the squad car, the male stated he would play his vinyl Prince records over the squad’s PA system.  Although we love Prince, the request was denied.
