School is Out ... !

By the close of this week all area schools will be finished for the year and our kids will be out-and-about. Motorists will need to exercise a higher level of caution, and watch for pedestrians and bicyclists in our neighborhoods and on our streets.

Chaska Police Officers issued 57 citations and 27 warnings during this reporting period.
There were 165 calls for service.
Officer Pesheck stopped a vehicle for speed in the area of Hwy 41 and 3rd Street East.  The male driver failed field sobriety evaluations and was arrested. He was charged with 3rd degree DWI and possessing an open container of alcohol in a vehicle.

Police responded to the area of Cherita Drive and Cardinal Street in reference to an intoxicated female, who had exited her car and urinated in the street before attempting to drive away.  Police arrived and located the female.  She refused to perform field sobriety evaluations and was placed under arrest.  She was charged with 2nd degree DWI.

Police received a report of two males stealing items from a parked vehicle on Friendship Lane North.  The two males were located in a business parking lot a short time later.  They were placed under arrest and charged with felony financial card transaction fraud, receiving stolen property, theft and possession of a small amount of marijuana.

During an altercation, a male slapped his girlfriend while they were at a hospital.  Police arrived and arrested the male for domestic assault.

National Running Day!

Each year on the first Wednesday in June, people across the United States participate in National Running Day.

This day was designated as a day for runners to reaffirm their passion for running. It is also a good day for beginners to begin a life-changing commitment to running.
