A Message from Chief Knight
Chief Law Enforcement Officers (CLEOs) Collaboration

Chief Scott Knight and Sheriff Jim Olson have joined with the Police Chiefs and Sheriff of Scott County - Chief Law Enforcement Officers (CLEOs) - with the intent of spending the coming months working together to review, in detail, the report issued by The President's Task Force on 21st Century Policing.  The CLEOs will work through the report to identify three areas:

  • What are we doing that is consistent with the recommendations?
  • What are we not doing, but would like to pursue?
  • What are we not able to do now or perhaps ever?

"We examine and review our practices internally.  We also know that we are stronger when we gather as peers to share individual agency practices, approaches and seek the views of each other", said Knight.

All of the assembled CLEOs warmly embraced the opportunity to jointly come together, combining our surrounding jurisdictions and learn from the report and each other.  "Our communities and departments will be the better for it", added Knight.
