The Chaska Christmas in May Board of Directors would like to take this opportunity to express our extreme gratitude to the multitude of volunteers who came out to help with the 19th annual Christmas in May event on Saturday, May 9th. Approximately 250 volunteers worked on six projects. The Board would also like to thank the many sponsors who made the event financially feasible. A big thank you to Uptown Plumbing and Heating; and EPS, who provided skilled professional workers on site. As part of the work completed, Uptown Plumbing and Heating also provided a brand new water heater and water softener to one of the residents, totally free of charge.
Over 105 homes have been renovated during the past 19 years of the event. The projects this year included the re-roof of a house, painting of trim, and fixing of exterior windows. A lot of landscaping was completed, as well as general painting. Additionally, through the Chaska Electric Rebate Program, a number of new appliances were given out to help cut down on energy use and replace those that were no longer working properly.
Chaska residents should look forward to next year even more, as it will be the 20th anniversary of Chaska Christmas in May. This is a tremendous program that accomplishes a great service to both recipients and volunteers, along with enhancing the aesthetics of the surrounding neighborhoods.
Questions about the program may be directed to the Christmas in May President, Matt Podhradsky, at 952-448-9200.
