SayHey5K This Weekend


It looks like great weather for the third annual SayHey5K event on Friday and Saturday, June 26 and 27!

The Mascot Run for kids will kick off at 6:00 pm.  Race packets can be picked up at the Chaska American Legion between 5:00 and 7:00 pm.  There will also be a pre-race meal from 5:30 to 7:00 pm, giveaways between 6:00 and 8:00 pm, and live music. 

Packet pickup begins at 7:00 am on Saturday for the adult race, which starts at 9:30 am from the American Legion.  A post-rave lunch will be served from 10:00 to 11:30 am, along with live music from 9:45 to am to 12:30 pm.

Come join us for a free movie in the Chaska Community Center theater. Children under 11 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

Summer Lazy Man IRONMAN Begins

2.4 Mile Swim • 112 Mile Bike Ride • 26.2 Mile Run
These are the distances usually completed in 17 hours or less in the IRONMAN triathlon—for the Summer Lazyman, you will get 31 days to complete it. Register for the Lazyman iRONMaN and log your miles, during July. Join your fellow lazymen on July 31, 6 p.m. for the Finishers BBQ at the CCC and pick up your 16 oz. FINISHER pint glass. Mileage logs provided.

ADVENTURE TREKS FOR TEENS
From archery to slacklining, these adventures are designed for youth ages 11 to 15 as an introduction to some traditional and trendy outdoor recreation adventures. Participants can register for one or many. Programs include supervision, instruction, transportation and equipment. Along the way we hope to develop some skills, create a passion, and have some fun! All treks depart and pick-up at the CCC.
FISHING
Make your summer great with a fishing adventure to Lake Minnetonka! Join us as we explore the clear blue water in search of the perfect catch. No fishing experience? Don’t worry! a trained Chaska Area Fishing with Friends boat captain will be on hand to help out! All equipment is provided and no fishing license is necessary.

Cost: $5 per person

July 4th Holiday Hours

City of Chaska Offices will be closed on Friday, July 3rd in observance of Independence, July 4th, which falls on a Saturday this year.  Park and Rec Offices will be closed on Friday also, however the Community Center building will be open to patrons.  The entire Community Center will be closed on Saturday, July 4th and reopen for regular hours on Sunday.  In case of an electrical or water emergency, please call 612-640-2848.

City Meetings

The Chaska Human Rights Commission will meet tonight, June 25th at 6:30 pm in the City Hall Council Chambers.

The Chaska City Council will meet on Monday at 7:00 pm in the Council Chambers of City Hall.
