National Night Out Another Success

Forty-seven parties were held in neighborhoods throughout Chaska on Tuesday evening.  This is up by six events from last year, proving National Night Out to have been another great success.
Thank you to everyone who participated in getting to know their neighbors a little bit better.  Thanks also to the Chaska Police and Fire Departments, McGruff the Crime Dog, Ridgeview Ambulance, CenterPoint Energy, and Chaska Target representatives who were able to visit many of the sites.

Wednesday Farmer's Market Corn Feed

Sweet corn is at its peak right now and residents can find out just how fresh and juicy it is, by coming out to the Farmer's Market on Wednesday, August 12th, at City Square Park and having a free ear of roasted corn!

Chaska Assistant City Administrator, Jeff Dahl, will be serving up free corn from 3-7pm.  This will be good practice for him, as he just got married last Saturday, August 1st!  Congratulations Jeff!

Classic Car

The Chaska VFW Car Show will be held Saturday, August 8th at 620 Creek Road.

Proceeds from the event support our Veterans.  Entry fee for vehicles is $10 plus one item or monetary donation for the Bountiful Basket Food Shelf.  Registration is from 9 am to noon.  The show runs from 10 am to 2 pm.  Prizes will be awarded at 2:30 pm.  All types of vehicles are welcome, including classics, hotrods, antique, special interest, muscle, imports, and trucks!

The event is sponsored by our good neighbors at Lenzen Chevrolet-Buick Chaska, the Chaska Lions Club, and College City Beverage in Dundas, Mn.  And of course, everyone is welcome to patronize the VFW Club.

Carver County Fair

Another great event that started Wednesday and runs through Sunday, August 9th is the Carver County Fair held in Waconia.
Spend a day and evening at the fair and meet up with old friends, visit the animals and exhibit buildings, play some Bingo, listen to some great music, attend a grandstand show, and EAT A LOT OF FOOD!

Admission at the gate is $8.  But today is Senior Citizen day, and the fee is half price for age 60 and over until 6pm.  On Friday, all veterans and military personnel can attend FREE!  Sunday, admission is free after 6pm. See you at the fair!

Groundbreaking Ceremony

A groundbreaking ceremony will be held for the Chaska Heights Senior Living Community on Thursday, August 13th at 11:00 am.  Chaska Heights Senior Living Community is a 138-unit senior independent living facility with memory care and assisted living units as well.
