Chaska Cares Golf

The Contractor for the 2015 East Downtown Chaska Street Reconstruction Project, Ryan Contracting, began work on Friday, August 14th, with the removal of trees.  Following that, the existing blacktop surface was removed along Second, Walnut, and Third Streets .  A temporary gravel base is being used for access during the construction process.

During the first phase of utility work, the intersection of Second and Walnut Streets will be closed.  In order to maintain business access during the closure, the alley way between Chestnut and Walnut Streets will be signed to accommodate one way traffic.  Business parking will be maintained along Second and Third Streets during Phase 1 construction.  Once the utilities are installed and streets are reconstructed up to a gravel surface, the intersection will be reopened.

Attached is a map of the reconstruction area.  Each of the highlighted streets will receive full upgrades to the sanitary sewer, water main, and storm sewer along with new concrete curb, sidewalks, and blacktop streets.  Each phase shown on the map will occur in sequence with the numbering order shown.  In order to reconstruct the new sidewalks for the highlighted streets, there will be times where access to the front door of a business may be interrupted.  Temporary sidewalk access will be made during sidewalk replacement and will be kept to a minimum on how long sidewalks will be out of service.
The completion of the overall streets and utilities project is scheduled to occur in November 2015.  During construction, if residents or business owners have questions or concerns, the City has provided two on-site construction contacts; Alan Offerman (651-308-9560) and Mike Hirsch (651-775-5150).  General questions related to the overall project may be directed to Chaska City Hall at 9521-448-9200.  Thank you for your patience during this construction period.
