Chaska has a Council/City Administrator system. The Council consists of four council members each elected to staggered four-year terms and a Mayor elected for a two-year term. Other than residency, there are no specific qualifications that must be met to qualify for these offices. The City Council formulates city policy and the City Administrator and Staff are responsible for City administration.
The Chaska City Council meets the first, third, and sometimes fifth Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are held in the City Council Chambers of Chaska City Hall. All meetings are open to the public.
