Community Development

Chaska's Community Development Department is made up of both the City's Planning Department and the City's Inspections functions.  The Community Development department is responsible for reviewing all development applications, implementing the City's Zoning Ordinance, reviewing all signage permits, and inspecting all new structures that are built in the City.  The Community Development Department also includes the Office of the Fire Marshal who is responsible for ensuring all industrial, commercial and multi-family residential units meet the City of Chaska's Fire Code.
