Electric Rates and Charges 

The following is a synopsis of Electric Utility rates and charges per Ordinance 854 adopted December 19, 2011.

Residential and Water Heating Electric

City Lighting
All City Usage	$0.07333 per KWH
Electric Franchise Fee: The City is establishing a Electric Franchise Fee Rate of $0.00869 per kilowatt hour of electric energy transmitted, furnished, delivered or received. (Effective January 1, 2011)The fee may be changed by the City Council from time to time, by Resolution adopted by majority vote.
Monthly Service Charge Clause A Monthly Service Charge shall apply to all accounts regardless of the amount of electricity used.
Temporary and Permanent Service Connection Charge $125.00 per meter- residential service meter. $235.00 per meter- general service meter. $400.00 large general service meter $300.00 off-peak electric space heating service meter. $300 bi-directional meter.

There will be a penalty charge to those customers who do not maintain a power factor of 90% to 100%.
Fuel Adjustment Clause A Fuel Adjustment Charge may be billed to all electric customers as a separate item on each bill. The rate per KWH will vary from billing period to billing period as it is adjusted by Chaska's Wholesale Power Supplier.

175 Watt Mercury Vapor		$10.75 per month
250 Watt Mercury Vapor		$12.95 per month
400 Watt Mercury Vapor		$18.70 per month
100 Watt High Pressure Sodium		$10.75 per month
150 Watt High Pressure Sodium		$12.95 per month
200 Watt High Pressure Sodium		$16.45 per month
400 Watt High Pressure Sodium		$22.05 per month
* No New Mercury Vapor Units will be installed.
The above charges include installation on existing pole with service available. Other installation charges shall be billed based on time and materials.
