Chaska's Water and Sewer Department is responsible for water treatment and distribution for the city. The water distribution system consists of 120 miles of pipe, ranging from 4" in diameter to 20" with 1,450 hydrants that are flushed yearly for maintenance. Chaska tests the water at numerous locations twice a month to ensure all state and federal water quality standards are met. Chaska's water rates are among the lowest in the metro area. Water Conservation Notice

As part of the State Mandated Water Conservation Plan and in order to insure adequate water supply for water protection, the Chaska Water Department has implemented an odd-even lawn-watering program.  This program greatly reduces the City’s peak water demand during the heavy usage months between May 1st and September 30th.

The City of Chaska Water Department is asking residents for their cooperation to comply with this program.  You are required to limit your lawn sprinkling and other non-essential water use based on your address and the calendar day of the month.  If your address is an odd number, you must limit your lawn sprinkling to odd number calendar days.  Likewise, your neighbor with an even numbered address must limit their lawn sprinkling to even number days.

Compliance with this ordinance is mandatory.  Failure to comply may result in a $100 fine and/or termination of water service.  Unestablished new seed or sod is exempt from this ordinance.  Thank you for your cooperation.
