WELCOME TO THE CITY OF CHASKA'S ELECTION SECTION!2008 is going to be an exciting election year! The Federal & State Primary will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, and the Federal/State/Municipal General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. The City of Chaska has the following local offices open for election: Mayor - Two Year Term from January 2009 to 2010 Ward 2 Councilperson - Four-year Term from January 2009 to 2012 Ward 4 Councilperson - Four-year Term from January 2009 to 2012
<><>If you are interested in filing for candidacy and want more information on the process, click on the Candidate Information button. Campaign packets are available from the City of Chaska. The packets contain the campaign filing form which must be returned with the $5 filing fee to the City Senior Clerk, financial reporting forms, the 2008 Campaign Manual, as well as other information on political signs, League of Women Voters events, and responsibilities of local commission members. Stop in at Chaska City Hall located near the corner of Highway 41 and Fourth Street West to pick up your packet or contact Margo Steffel, Senior Clerk, at 952-227-7523. To find out where to vote or in which Ward or Precinct you reside, as well as how to vote absentee, click on the Voter Information button.
The City of Chaska is currently seeking Election Judges. This is a paid community service that is both fun and rewarding. If you would like more information, click on the Election Judge button at the left.
