Community Survey

The City of Chaska conducts a community surveys every few years to gauge residents’ satisfaction with all facets of city services and take a better pulse on expectations for the future. statistically significant survey.

Since 1991, the City has contracted with the Morris Leatherman Company (formerly Decision Resources) to conduct a statistically significant survey, which means the information being presented is based on an in-depth conversation with 400 randomly selected residents. 

The 2018 Community Survey had 179 questions and was conducted over the phone from May to June 2018. Here are some of the highlights:

  • 94% believe the city is headed in the right direction 
  • 91% have a favorable perception of the strength of Chaska's community identity
  • 84% approve of the job done by the City Council 
  • 91% approve of the job done by City staff   
  • 61% believe the pace of development is about right
